Three antique treen spice boxes all different in style but all for the storage of valuable spice.
The one on the LHS is an 18th century walnut and fruitwood box. Similar ones are illustrated in Pinto. It has a rimmed lid with central aperture which screws down tightly on a threaded column and down on to a radiating divisional circular box.
The middle one is a 19th century three tier spice tower with original labels, turned from sycamore from Kent.
The one on the RHS is an oak spice box with sliding lid with interior divisional sections.
