This is a lovely 19th century bottle case. It is made from Yew wood which makes it very unusual. Nearly all this type of bottle cases are made from Boxwood. As you would expect it has a good colour and patina to it.

These cases were made by the finest turners and would have originally housed a glass bottle with perfume or apothecary liquids. The cases were made to protect the glass bottle inside,
