A very attractive Tunbridge Ware sewing or pannier box. This sewing box dates from the early 1800s and has some unusual scenes of Brigton on the box.
On the lid is Chain Pier with men, women and children dressed in Georgian clothes and hats. There are boats a crane and a backdrop of town houses. There are two further scenes from Brighton. The handle is painted , and the interior is still lined with the original paper lining.
