An unusual egg shaped  yew wood Tunbridgeware nutmeg grater, with inlay to the top. The grater unscrews in the middle to reveal a grater which in turn unscrews for storage of nutmegs.
Nutmeg graters were real status symbols in the 18th and early 19th century when nutmeg was expensive to buy.
