This is a great antique treen spoon carved from pear wood  with a ridged handle. On the top of the handle is a carved heart and further down there is cross hatch carving on the front of the handle. On the back of the handle there is further decoration and a carved date 1806. Note how the carver misjudged the space because the handle is shaped where it meets the spoon bowl so the 6 had to be carved at an angle. It measures 15cm l x 4.3cm w x 0.6cm d.
