An interesting early 19th century antique treen boxwood dame school clicker usually known as  a clicket or snapper. These were used to catch the attention of inattentive pupils. Applied pressure and quick releaseof the trigger produces a click. As seen in Pinto's book. this is an early example where the trigger is held to the head with a gut loop. c1830
