A pair of 19th century cherry wood sugar tongs. Beautifully made from one piece of wood. Chip carved  and open pierced decoration. The central section was possibly to prevent the tongs being squeezed to hard, hence preventing them from breaking.
A great colour and patina. Initials O and J are carved on oneside.
