A very nice early  cherry wood 1800s shoe snuff box of small size. The sliding lid has a carved raised heart and to both sides are inlaid diamonds surrounded by brass pins. Both the heart and diamonds were used as symbols of love, affection and wealth. The soles of the shoes have have brass nails along with brass pins for the laces.
The box measures 7.5cm l x 3.7cm h x 2.8cm d.
