A 19th century Mauchline Ware money box in the shape of a small house. The box is made from pitch pine with transfer decoration of a house front and roof.

It has a slot to place the coins on the back and to retrieve them there is an opening on the base.

 

It measures 9cm w x 6cm d x 7.5cm h

 

Mauchline Ware is wooden souvenir items made near Mauchline in Scotland They usually have pictures of popular tourist sites on them. Dates from c1880-1900
