An early 1800s ring turned open nutcracker. These small pocket nutcrackers were carried around in pockets and used for cracking hazelnuts which were growing in the wild.

This example is more unusual than most as it is a ring type without a base.There are three incised circular line decorations around the outside.

It measures 6cm h when closed x 5cm w x 1.8cm d.
