A 19th century fruit wood puzzle ball, with concentric circle decoration. One of the circlular roundels can be pushed in to release a small box where the snuf , sovereigns or rouge can be stored. etc
These were popular in the mid 1800s as pocket size pieces for storing coins, snuff etc.
This example measures 4cm diameter.
Good condition, just two or three ancient filled worm holes. Works well and has a good patina.
