A very nice 19th century lignum vitae pounce pot.
The small pots were used to store pounce, before blotting paper, the pounce was sprinkled on to the paper and then any remaining pounce, which was expensive, was poured back into the pot via the saucer shaped top. C1840
It measures 7.2cm h x 7.2cm w
