This is an interesting monaural stethoscope.
The monaural (for one ear) stethoscope was invented in 1816 for doctors to listen to patients hearts and chests. Nowadays they use two ear piece stethoscopes but monaural stethoscopes are still used to listen to the heartbeat of unborn babies.
A nice early medical antique that would make a very nice addition to a medical equipment collection. There is an old minor repair to the top.
It measures 18cm h x 7cm w.
Antique Treen Monaural Stethoscope.
