An antique treen knitting sheath dating from the late 1700's.
This is a lovely Folk Art piece made from one piece of wood which has cleverly been cut so that the horizontal carved decorations do not go vertically upwards but spiral around the stick. In certain places you can see the carved decoration has been worn smooth through the use its had which is lovely to see. This knitting stick also has two holes at either end for two different sized needles perhaps....
Even the top of the knitting sheath has carved vertical decoration.
A really good example od an antique treen knitting stick.
It measures 17cm h x 1.5cm w
