A lovely early 1800's knitting sheath, probably from the Durham area. A square cross section with well decorated with chip carved triangles. Slot for the apron strings to hold the knitting sheath in place. To oneside of the sheath are the initials AP and the date FEB TH' 21, referring to 1821. Very tactile and smooth with use.
