An antique early 1800's English treen turned double measure, made from beech wood. Note how it is divided off centre to provide two different volumes of measure. This is a particularly nice measure having double incised line decoration to the outside and a well turned lip to the division.Very good colour and patina.
These measures were used for corn, nuts and various grocers, spice, flour and coffee.
It measures 13.5cm h x 6cm w .
