A late 1800s /early 1900s campaign Brighton Buns an essential travel item for the military, explorer and treveller. They were compact and portable.They consist of two drip pan bases which screw together to form a circular bun. When unscrewed the base divides into two halves revealing two candle cups and two candle snuffers. When upturned the two drip pans form the bases of two chamber candles and the cups slip into the bases to form two chamber sticks.They were also used by pilgrims visiting the Holy Land.They were also known as portable candlesticks by the military. They measure 11.5cm w x 5.5cm h.
