A late 1800's campaign Brighton Buns an essential travel item for the military, explorer and treveller. They were compact and portablee.
They consist of two drip pan bases which screw together to form a circular bun. When unscrewed the base divides into two halves revealing two candle cups and two candle snuffers. When upturned the two drip pans form the bases of two chamber candles and the cups slip into the bases to form two chamber sticks.
They were also used by pilgrims visiting the Holy Land.
They were also known as portable candlesticks by the military.
This example is nice as ithey still retain both of the candle snuffers, these are often lost.
