This is a late 1800s boxwood travelling ink well. It has a screw lid which opens to reveal the glass bottle secured inside the box. The underside of the lid has a protruding section which acts as the lid to the bottle when the top is closed.

A very nice tactile piece, measuring 6cm h x 6cm w.
