A 19th century mahogany bird scarer. This example is beautifully made from mahogany and has brass plates to protecet the ends. The handle is well turned and is finished in brass. This bird scarer makes a loud noise. These items were used for anti burgularly devices and as a police rattle as well.
It measures 28cm l x5cm d x 18.5cm h including the handle.
