A mid to late 1800s antique treen string box in the shape of a bee hive. The brass finial would have been used for cutting the string. The string box unscrews at the base and inside is a detachable spool holder. The string/twine would be pulled out from the brass hole at the bottom. This bee hive box stands on three cylindrical feet.
It measures approx 11cm h x 6.8cm w.
