A 19th century travelling boxwood and bone apple scoop.The scoop and handle are separate and when threaded together and then reversed the scoop is encased inside the handle. These were made to be carried around in the pocket.Boxwood handle and bone scoop.These scoops were to enable people to eat raw apples when they had lost their teeth.

 

It measues 9cm l x 2.5cm when closed.
