An unususal 19th century snuff box in the shape of a tatting shuttle. It has been  inlaid  with horn decoration to the lid base and sides. Lovely integral wooden hinge. Must have belonged to a sewer originally!
It measures 10cm w x 1.8cm h x 3.8cm d at the widest point.
