A wonderful small Oak coffer box with herringbone and star inlay on the front panel. On the lid, coloured in red wax is written:

The Hookways mainly originated from Devon and around this time there was a family living in Buckland Brewer and one in Bideford. It measures w 36cm x d 20cm x h 22 cm.
