A great Georgian six tier spice tower of fabulous colour and patina.
This spice tower is unusual on several fronts;
Firstly it is a six compartment spice tower which are difficult to find.
It is made from Cherry wood, the majority are made from Sycamore. The lovely grain can be seen on one of the images showing the inside.
It has an old label to the base writtem in 1927 stating it to be an 18th century spice tower, the majority are 19th century.
It never had any labels applied to it. This is important as it backs up that the spice towers were made blank and then labels were applied or not according to personal use.
Each compartment has traces of different spice useage.
It has a great colour and patina and is really good condition with no chips or cracks.
It measures 25cm h x 8.5cm w.
