A very good 19th century Scottish Luggie.
A Luggie is a drinking vessel made in Scotland. It consists of alternating wooden staves bound by willow. In between each stave made by hand using a knife there is feather banding to ensure the vessel is water tight.
Interestingly betwwen the two layered base there are some dry peas which when shaken would get the attention of the bar tender.
It measures 13 cm w x 8.5 cm h excl the handle x 18.4 cm h including the handle.
