A Scottish, nineteenth–century sycamore  snuff box, cut from a solid block of wood, with integral wood hinges and deeply carved with scenes from the adventures of Tam o' Shanter. The shaggy carved dog to the sides and front. Believed to be carved by a blind man operating from a work shop in Ayrshire in the late 1800's.
