A large 19th century Scottish bicker. Made from alternating staves of sycamore and alder and willow bound to hold the staves firmly in position.
Note the feathering in between the staves to keep the vessel watertight.
A Scottish Bicker is a straight sided circular vessel with handles, used as a drinking vessel.
This one measures 16.5cm at its widest point x 8cm h.
