A 19th century rosewood puzzle ball with a secret compartment. The compartment pushes out from the ball and has a lid which comes off for storage of sovereigns, snuff or rouge. Most examples have concentric circles all over the surface but this is only decorated on one end and lets the lovely rosewood grain shows on the rest of the ball.
