A 19th century pressed wood misers  snuff box.

The lid is decorated with pairs of  birds with hearts, stags and stars.

A misers snuff box has a swivel lid so that when offering snuff to friends the lid can be turned to allow only a pinch of snuff to be taken, hence the name misers snuff box.

It measures 7.5cm w x 2cm h.
