An early 19th century simple pocket field microscope in a fitted mahogany case. It has a pillar limb with a screw on socket to the lid, three different eyepieces, detachable stage, scissors, tweezers and a blade which has been shortened.
These small pocket microscopes were popular for taking on day trips and examining flowers, insects etc.
The case measures 12cm w x 8.7cm d x 3.5cm h
