A very nice antique card box decorated on each side with hearts  and stamped decoration. Inside is a complete pack of 52  antique playing cards dating from around 1840. Similar ones are in The British Museum. One of the cards is an etched duty card which represents the ace of spades, but also shows the duty which had to be paid on playing cards in England.
The box is divided into two sections for two different packs of cards.
