Antique pictorial alphabet set in a cylindrical box with the interior containing circular card with an alphabet letter on one side and a picture on the other side. In this set there are also unusually cards with the complete alphabet on one card, lower and upper case alphabet, numbers and monosyllables. The set appears to be complete with all the alphabet letters present, two of the round cards have two alphabet letters to the reverse.
To the lid it has a label saying The Picture Alphabet published by N Carpenter 29 Goswell Terrace London,
Unusually and really nice to have, is an inscription to the base, 1833 with a message hand written saying' Elizabeth Annie Neviille from her dear papa August 12th 1833".
