A late Victorian mahogany paint box. The interior has a lift out mahogany tray with the remains of some of the different paints each housed in ceramic rectangular holders with the labels for each paint underneath. Below the lift out tray is the original ceramic mixing palette.The box still retains its original paper trade label - prize colour box by Newman London.
On the outside of the box is an impressed stamp, department science prize. It has a working key.
