An unusual mahogany 19th century wine slope/ cradle. The wine slope is inclined at an  angle in order that any sediment will settle in the smallest possible area at the base of the bottle.

Note the cut out at one end for the neck of the bottle, the angle at which the bottle slopes allows for the cork to be withdrawn with the minimum disturbance of the bottle's contents.

It measures 22.5cm l x 11cm w x 11.5cm h at the tallest part.
