This is a lovely 19th century circular mahogany reel holder and pin cushion. On the lid is a domed central pin cushion. The lid lifts off and there are six wooden spikes to hold cotton reels. Each of the reels would have threaded a different cotton through the circular holes on the side, this would have enabled the sewer to work with six different cottons without removing them from the box.
The box measures 14cm w x 9cm h including the pin cushion.
