An antique mahogany adjustable candle stand of good large size.
Note the well turned side handle which allows the top to move up and down for height.
The nicely turned stem and base which is lead weighted for stability, is a good sign of quality.
When closed it measures 33cm tall x 14.5cm w and fully adjusted it measures approx 41cm.
It dates from the early part of the 1800's, c1820/30.
