An early 1800s lignum vitae coffee grinder. Similar ones are illustrated in Treen for The Table by J Levi and Pinto.
Beautifully turned this bullet shaped coffee grinder has a lovely finial and shaped moulded foot.
When not in use the handle is stored in the base of the grinder which unscres, the top also unscrew to feed the coffee beans in and fix the handle. The middle also unscrews.
