This is an early to mid 1800s sycamore spice muffineer. It was used for sprinkling spice or sugar onto hot buttered muffins, hence its name.
The lid with sprinkling holes and finial unscrews to fill the muffineer up. An old repair to the base. This muffineer has developed a lovely colour and patina.
It measures 15cm h x 6cm w in the middle.
