A mahogany cased brass folding scales for guineas or half guineas/sovereigns. This is a particularly nice example as it has the added addition of an inlaid ruler on the lid. Inside the lid are the old labels with instructions in part and the makers trade label. T Houghton whio worked on scientific instruments from 1771 to 1825.
It measures 15cm l x 3cm w x 1.5cm h when closed.
