An interesting 19th century solid ebony fleam hammer or blood stick.
The hammer measures 23cm l x 3.8cm w
Fleam blades were used for blood letting horses and cows etc. The spiked blade was placed against the animals' flesh. The back of the blade was hit hard with a Fleam Hammer thus making a clean cut.
