A dated pair of English lever nutcrackers.  The cross over lever has a carved nut on the top and there is some star decoration on the sides.
A carefully chosen piece of wood with a crooked branching head end was used for the cross over mortised arm, into this a the straight arm is loosely placed and levers against a hard wood peg in the tenon.It is chip carved and has a carved nut to the end. this one is dated 1809.There are the initials R F and the date 1809 to the back.
It measures 16.5cm l xc 3.5cm w x 2.8cm d.
