This is an unusual 19th century carved coquilla nut holder, probably used as a pomander, although shaped like a glove powderer with a top that unscrews. It has open carved work to the main body so would have needed a container if it dispensed powder.
.It is beautifully decorated with carved flowers and leaves. The middle section unscrews as well as the top section.
It measures 12cm h x 3.8cm w.
