A lovely 19th century staved cider costrel. This one is a particularly nice example being very well patinated. It is of staved construction and then willow bound.
These are often referred to as harvest barrels and were used to carry beer, cider, spirits etc in.
It measures 19cm h if it is standing uprioght on one end x 7cm w x 11cm h in the middle.
