An 18th century Rushlight with good iron work and  lovely coiled counter weight on a wooden base. The wooden base is interesting  as it has an old repair-it has some lead to fill a crack!! Great small rushlight.
These antique rushlights were used to hold pieces of rush which were burnt in place of expensive candles.
