An interesting Victorian measurer verified with a Victorian stamp to the inside.
 
This is unusual for two reasons, one it is turned from ash wood, nearly all of these were turned from beechwood andalso the measurer is solid from about 2/3rds of the way down indicating that it could have been used as a short measure, at the very best it would have misled customers!!
