A fine chip carved knitting sheath. Dated 1805 with the name Mary to the pannel. Inlaid with diamonds, key hole and the comma/soul symbols used for Welsh Lovespoons. It has an unusual clip fastening to use with a belt rather than the diagonal slots. Two open lanterns with a ball in each. The knitting sheath terminates in a ball. Initials A to one side and M to the other.

It measures 22cm l x 2cm w x 2cm d.
