This is a really beautiful C19th box. Made as a love token probably given as a wedding/marriage gift- a keep sake box.
Beautifully chip carved on the sides and lid. There are circular roundels  carved into and level with the lid and one is carved and raised to stand out along with the heart - which gives a very striking appearance.
Roundels are carved on the sides of the box as well.
Either end of the box you can see the growth rings or annual rings.
This box measures approx 18cm l x 4.8cm d x 4.5cm h.
