This is a lovely 19th century walnut with a hinged lid on the top on one side. It has been preserved and made into a novelty  sewing item.
Inside it houses a miniature pair of scissors,  note the scissor ends are carved in the shape of a bird, a miniature thimble and a paper packet enclosing some pins.
The walnut measures 5cm h x 4cm w.
Lovely colour and patina.
