This is a lovely early 1800s painted Tunbridge Ware sewing clamp with its castellated sewing accessories.
The top had a pot with a motto on the lid,
' This Ramsgate Gift I beg you take, and keep it for the donors sake'.
The lid pulls off for storage.
Below there are two pull out castellated needle cases, they slip into small loop holders on either side of the main body. The castle tops unscrew for storage of needles.. There is also a castellated tape/ ribbon dispenser. The finial on the top turns to wind the unmarked silk ribbon in and out.
It's a very neat and compact size only measuring 13cm h x 7cm w at the widest part .
A very good example of a Georgian Tunbridge Ware sewing clamp and accessories.
